Z-Force 75-7 Motor
The new Z-Force 75-7 motor in the ZERO DS combines powerful performance with efficient, passive air cooling. It is based on Zero’s proven IPM motor technology and utilizes the DSR/X’s external motor hardware to dissipate heat particularly quickly.
Under the hood, the motor has been specifically optimized for high performance while significantly reducing weight. The result is an agile, powerful, and efficient 11-kW dual-sport electric motorcycle—ideal for everyday use, country roads, and light off-road adventures.
Power Transmission
The linchpin of power
The ZERO DS utilizes the proven Zero design, featuring a concentrically mounted motor housing and rear swingarm pivot. This ensures that the drive belt remains at optimal tension at all times and that torque is efficiently transferred to the rear wheel.
The specially designed swingarm mounting creates space for the powerful electric motor while also enabling a sleek motorcycle design. For you, this means: excellent ergonomics, precise control, and superior maneuverability—in the city, on the road, and off-road.
A1 Driver’s License
11 kW of riding fun with the ZERO DS
With the ZERO DS, you can experience the fun of electric riding even with just an A1 driver’s license. The powerful 11-kW motor, with over 100 Nm of torque, delivers instant acceleration, a quiet ride, and agile handling—ideal for city streets, country roads, and light off-road trails.
In Switzerland, the A1 category has been available to those aged 16 and older since January 2021. Anyone who already holds a Category B driver’s license can also qualify for the A1 category after completing the basic course —which consists of three 4-hour sessions —and thus discover Zero Motorcycles’ 11-kW models.
Cockpit & Controls
With the ZERO DS, you can customize your cockpit or let Zero Motorcycles’ automatic light sensors adjust the display to the optimal settings. The 12.7 cm TFT color display shows all the important information clearly and concisely.
Thanks to multimode navigation, you can quickly switch driving modes while on the road, set the cruise control, and control other functions directly from the cockpit.
Battery & Range
Z-Force 15.6+ kWh Battery
The ZERO DS’s Z-Force 15.6+ kWh lithium-ion battery is maintenance-free and gives you an urban range of up to 249 km. The range can be further extended with the optional Power Tank.
Thanks to high power and energy density, an aluminum heat sink housing, and efficient heat dissipation, the battery cells remain evenly cooled. This ensures that you have reliable access to maximum drive power over the long term.
Light & Visibility
Let There Be Light with LEDs
The ZERO DS features custom-designed full-LED headlights that provide a clear view of the road and ensure high visibility in traffic. The LED taillight with opalescent light guides further improves side visibility.
Optionally, you can upgrade the DS with LED turn signals and hazard lights so that your direction changes remain clearly visible even in low-light conditions.
Suspension & Comfort
Carefully tuned suspension
The ZERO DS is equipped with suspension components that are optimally tuned for adventure rides and varied terrain. The fully adjustable 47-mm Showa fork with 187 mm of travel ensures secure contact with the ground and a comfortable ride.
At the rear, there’s a new Showa shock absorber with a convenient adjustment wheel for preload. This lets you quickly adjust the suspension for riding with a passenger or carrying extra luggage in the optional TRAX ADV cases.

Always maintain optimal contact with the ground
With its lightweight and sturdy cast wheels — 19 inches in the front and 17 inches in the rear—the ZERO DS can tackle almost any obstacle. Pirelli Scorpion Trail II enduro tires come standard, ensuring reliable grip and strong performance on a variety of surfaces.
For improved off-road capability, you can optionally equip the DS with Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires. The more off-road-oriented tread pattern offers you more traction off paved roads and unleashes the ZERO DS’s full potential in off-road conditions.
